04/04/13 Kingdom of the Holy Sun – Her Sweet Delight
We’ve got some psychedelic music for you today, and it ain’t for the faint of heart. Kingdom of the Holy Sun is an amalgamation of shoegaze and drone music dripping with psychedelia and music of the far-east. Guido Anselmi is the mastermind behind this trippy band, creating all the tunes and arrangements himself. “Her Sweet Delight,” the A side to a recent single isn’t too far off from a Doors number. Anselmi croons about a self-indulgent women, hiding behind howling winds and slow churning organ. All the while, 60s guitar cuts through the noise, creating a wild adventure all its own.
